Washing Cloth Diapers

Pre-wash
  1. Every new cloth diaper requires 3-6 times of pre-wash.
  2. The pre-wash process will remove the wax or natural oil and increase absorbency.
  3. For the FIRST pre-wash, a small amount of detergent will be good, but please make sure the detergent is bleach free, softener free and enzyme free.
  4. If you are not sure about the detergent, then just wash it with warm water.
  5. Recommended “Pureen H-A-D” which is suitable for natural fabric.
  6. For the Second and above pre-wash, no detergent is required.
  7. For bamboo insert, it will reach the best absorbency  after 12 wash.
 Washing Guide
  1. Remove the insert from the pocket cloth diaper
  2. Flush away baby poop into the toilet. Skip this if it is just urine.
  3. Secure the snap button or velcro tabs by sticking them to the back tabs.
  4. Run a cold pre-wash (or a short cycle without detergent).
  5. Do a regular wash with zero residue detergent (E.g. Pureen H-A-D)
  6. Rinse diapers in lots of water to avoid build-up of detergent, bacteria or urine.
  7. Once washed, your diapers should not smell like urine or  detergent!
  8. If they smell of detergent or urine, wash them again in plenty of warm water.
  9. Dry in the dryer or outside. UV rays from sunlight will help to kill bacteria.
  10. Cloth diaper can be hand or machine wash.
  11. Hand wash can will prolong life span of the cloth diapers.

Detergent recommendation
1. Pureen H-A-D
2. Ecomax Liquid/Powder detergent
These detergent does not contain enzymes, bleach, softener and phosphates.
For normal detergent, only use 1/2 - 1/4 of the recommended amount to prevent detergent residues

DO NOT'S TO REMEMBER
Please do not wash or dry under hot/high heat, warm water is okay. Please do not use any softener, bleach, and enzyme on the cloth diaper.
Please do not use Glycerin soaps as glycerin soap contains a component of fat or oil. The soap is recognizably different from other soaps because it is translucent.
Please avoid using nappy cream or balm cream.
If it is unavoidable, use a nappy liner to prevent the cream getting direct on the cloth diaper inner or insert.
